My name is Maite, and I am the caregiver for my 88 year old mother with Alzheimer’s as well as my 92 year old father.  I have superb caregivers that lessen my load, support from community and a magical partner.  I am wildly fortunate. However, many caregivers are utterly alone caring for their loved ones with dementia, having no family support, financial means to pay for help or knowledge of services available to them.  I’ve created Art of Connecting to reach in to those who can’t reach out.

In  the months to come, Art of Connecting will launch as non-profit mobile community of volunteers  providing support, tools and much need respite to the overwhelmed 24/7 caregivers and developing an individual relationship with the person with dementia.

Join me in creating an army of dementia volunteers battling this exhausting disease through the art of connecting.
